An eco-friendly approach to low-temperature and near-neutral bleaching of cotton knitted fabrics using glycerol triacetate as an activator

چکیده

Near-neutral bleaching of cotton fabrics at low temperature is great importance for saving energy and ecological friendliness in textile industry. In this work, glycerol triacetate (GT) was investigated as an activator hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) knitted fabrics, satisfactory whiteness obtained. The properties H2O2/GT system assessed by the CIE index (WI), H2O2 decomposition rate, concentration generated peracetic acid bursting strength. Possible factors affecting bleached were discussed detail. At 60 °C, adding only 10 mmol/L GT to solution (60 mmol/L) bleach min, WI significantly increased from 52.09 68.92. By using benzenepentacarboxylic a fluorescent probe hydroxyl radical (HO·) detection, it found that could clearly promote HO· generation its closely related fabric. Furthermore, mechanism proposed exploring relationship between concentration. has more economical benefits better water solubility than tetraacetylethylenediamine. may provide cost-effective environmentally friendly approach alternative conventional alkaline high-temperature bleaching.

Laccases for Denim Bleaching: An Eco-Friendly Alternative

Laccases have received much attention of researchers in last decades due to their ability to oxidise both phenolic and non-phenolic lignin-related compounds as well as highly recalcitrant environmental pollutants which makes them very useful for their application to several biotechnological processes such as those from the textile industry. In this regard, laccases are used for denim bleaching ...

Investigation of Air Permeability of Cotton & Modal Knitted Fabrics

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the porosity / compactness of the knitted structures made from cotton and modal yarns and to evaluate the air permeability property for sportswear. In the experimental section, cotton and modal yarns spun in different counts ( Ne 30, Ne 40 ) with the same twist coefficient of αe = 3.53 and 3.3 respectively were knitted as single jersey fabrics in the s...

Low-Temperature Bleaching of Cotton Cellulose using an Ultrasound-assisted Tetraacetylethylenediamine/ Hydrogen Peroxide/Triethanolamine System

This work investigated the efficiency of a tetraacetylethylenediamine/ hydrogen peroxide/triethanolamine (TAED/H2O2/TEA) system for lowtemperature bleaching of cotton fabric, with and without ultrasonic assistance. The low-temperature bleaching results were compared to those obtained from a conventional H2O2 bleaching system. The application of TAED/H2O2/TEA without ultrasonic assistance to gre...
